TIMELY AND GENEROUS
We thank God and all of you who worked in our Vacation Bible School to teach over 300 children about Jesus being our King. Only God knows the impact of His Word being taught by example and through the dramas. Thanks, Lindy, for being a wonderful leader for this year’s VBS. All the work and expenses are worth the results for VBS.
The mission project for VBS this year was to provide the funds needed to buy a small bus for the International Christian Church in Suriname, South America. We flew their minister, Robby Bridgewater, to Tiffin to be our missionary for the week of VBS. Over the last three years we had received about $4000 for a bus but that was not sufficient for a used fifteen passenger bus that would meet the church’s needs. Robby’s ministry is focused on the children and young people in the community where the church is located. Being in poverty the children and their families cannot provide their own transportation to their VBS and to Sunday School and worship on Sunday. Some would have to walk two to three hours to be in the church services. The answer is for the church to provide transportation but the church’s offerings is only $25 to $30 per Sunday. You provided the necessary funds for the bus. Robby announced a good used bus would cost over $6000 but we only had $4000. During our VBS Robby encouraged us to give in order to provide this bus. I hoped we could get close to the needed $2000 but we exceeded it. As of August 19, we have raised over $3,300 from VBS and other generous members. Robby has informed me the church now has the bus. They are so excited and thankful to God and us for our provisions.
Thanks for letting God work through us. Great accomplishments for God happen when His people pray and work together. What a show of loving care for others in unity. I am grateful to Christ’s Church for being timely and generous. Have a wonderful day.
