ROCK-SOLID GIVING CAMPAIGN
Thursday, October 25th, 2007Our Rock-Solid Giving stewardship emphasis trains us to build our lives upon the rock of the words of Jesus Christ from Jesus’ parable of the Wise and Foolish Men in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus said those of us who hear and obey His words will be like a Wise Man who built his house upon a rock foundation which did not fall when the rain fell, the floods rose, and the winds slammed against that house. To add emphasis to His instructions, He compared those who hear His words and disobey them to a Foolish Man who built his house on the sand. When the rain fell, the floods rose, and the winds slammed against his house, the house fell creating a great loss. I am confident the loss included no only the house but precious human lives. Obeying God’s Word is the wiser choice.
Our emphasis on giving is to prepare us to support the budget for Christ’s Church during the coming year. The Sermon on the Mount encompasses different instructions about our attitude and use of our money. Jesus taught this eternal truth: “Where your money is, there will your heart be also.” We all have memories of times when we wasted our money on perishable items. However I have never regretted giving to the work of our Lord Jesus Christ to support the ministries of the local church. I invite you to invest your life in the kingdom of our Lord. You will not regret supporting the church’s ministries to our community, church and missions for the coming year. Thanks for your support.
